    IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible.

    ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Thunderstorms are expected across the watch area tonight into Sunday morning. Very high rainfall rates of 2 inches or greater in a short time are possible, which could lead to flash flooding particularly in urban areas. In addition, with the potential for repeated rounds of storms, some locations could receive 2 to 4 inches of rain with locally higher amounts possible. With saturated soils from previous rainfall, these rainfall rates and rainfall amounts will lead to an increased risk for flash flooding.

Jimmy Hollins II Fatally Shot in the Street in Kewanee. Kewanee Police Asking for Public’s Help

Kewanee Police identified the Kewanee man shot dead on Houle Avenue on Sunday night.  Jimmy Hollins II, 31, was shot in the neck and left on the road Sunday night.  Despite life-saving measures performed by Kewanee Police and paramedics, Jimmy Hollins II was pronounced deceased at the scene. Kewanee Police immediately began a homicide investigation, with assistance from the Henry Mercer County Investigative Task Force, Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigators, and Henry County Emergency Management.  The Kewanee Police received a call for a male lying in the road in the 100 block of Houle Avenue around 7:31 PM on March 24th, Officers and Deputies canvassed the area looking for the suspect, talking to witnesses, and looking for security camera footage.  An autopsy is scheduled for March 26, 2024.

The Kewanee Police Department doesn’t believe there is a threat to the public and that this was an isolated incident.
