Hikers in the region are in for a treat this month with the Friends of the Hennepin Canal organizing a scenic adventure on the feeder canal, stretching from Bridge 52 to Bridge 56. Known as the “Red Squirrel,” this delightful 4.2-mile journey encourages nature enthusiasts to witness the beauty of the area without any membership or fees required. Gather at 1:30 PM on March 16th at Bridge 56 on Route 92, four miles west of Route 40. Route 92 is 13 miles south of Rock Falls on Route 40 or 12 miles north of I-80, Exit 45 on Route 40.
