The Friends of the Hennepin Canal are holding a kayak, canoe, hike, or bike on the Hennepin Canal on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 10:30 AM from the visitor center to the Wyanet Boat Launch (Lock 21 Campground). Travel to Wyanet for lunch and a break, and then travel back to your car. The trip is around 10 miles round-trip. They are looking for volunteers to shuttle people from Wyanet back to their cars for the people who want to do the 5 miles to Wyanet only. A minimum $20 donation is requested to fund kayak launch locations on the Hennepin Canal.
Event stickers are provided by Shelly Barreto, and Carlos Barreto can provide rental kayaks if needed. Lunch will be served at Wyanet, and Pat Hermann will be manning the grill.
