Kewanee won their first game of the invitational, with the goal of making it to the championships. Kewanee played against DePue in game two, who they played in the semifinals. DePue started strong, and Kewanee had a slow start. Coach Bermudez said, “DePue scored first, then the boilermakers work up.” Michael Bermudez took the ball and made his way through four defenders. Leaving them behind, Bermudez took a shot at a goal to tie the game. DePue was able to score again to win the game.

After falling to DePue, the boilermakers played LaSalle-Peru for third and fourth place. LaSalle-Peru started out strong and didn’t share the ball at all. They scored from a penalty kick against the boilermakers. The boilermakers started fighting back. The speed from Tyson Currie and Alonso Corral had many chances to score, but the goalie defender stopped their chances. Isidro Martinez had some great shots but the LaSalle-Peru goalie blocked his shots. LaSalle-Peru scored one more goal with five minutes left in the game to take third place in the invitational.
