“Kewanee High School Girls Bowling Team had their first tournament of the 2023-2024 season this Saturday, November 25th! The Rock Island Invitational Tournament occurred in Moline at Highland Park Lanes. Currently, the bowling team is made up of 17 girls. Twelve competitors represented Kewanee at the competition. Varsity placed 13th and JV placed 12th of the schools competing in the tournament. A personal achievement for one of our bowlers, Amy Entas, included achieving her two highest games of a 137 then a 142! For many of the KHS bowling players, this was their first time ever having bowled competitively! New Head Coach, Lexi Ruemker, and Assistant Coach, Carl Rohrig, both enjoyed the day of coaching players throughout the competition. Previous head coach, Marland Rachel, also contributed his time as a volunteer coach in the morning of the tournament. Coaches, volunteers and players are looking forward to a year of growth, fun, and representing Kewanee to the best of their abilities!”
