The community is rallying behind the young chess masters, wishing them success as they represent their school. Let’s see how the Steamers match up as the tournament unfolds—win or lose, their hard work has already set them apart.

Coach Karen Raschke said, “This was Kewanee Central’s first time at state for chess, and this is also the first year we had a chess team not just a club. This was also our students first real tournament. The kids did a fantastic job and are already looking forward to going back next year to achieve higher rankings.

Show Steamer pride for these students as they test their skills at the state level for the first time. Keep up the hard work, Central Steamer Chess Team!
