The Fourth of July is right around the corner and the Kewanee Chamber of Commerce needs some help paying for the fireworks this year. The Fourth of July fireworks show is on July 4th, at 9:45 PM, in Northeast Park. The local band, High Jinx, will perform at 7:30 PM, to start the night. There was a 15% increase in the cost of fireworks this year, due to tariffs, transportation increases, and inflation. The Kewanee Chamber of Commerce is seeking donations to help cover the rising cost of the fireworks.
Donations may be sent or dropped off at the Kewanee Chamber of Commerce office located at 113 E. 2nd St. All contributors will be recognized the night of the event and in other local media.
You can round up your grocery order at Sav-A-Lot in Kewanee to benefit the fireworks fund. On Saturday, June 15th, Time Out Pub & Grub is hosting the 2024 Pedal Party and 100% of proceeds will be donated to the fireworks fund. Kickstands are up at 10:30 AM, and the registration deadline is June 7th. The cost is $20 per person and includes a t-shirt. Be on the lookout for our Fireworks Donation Cans in area businesses
