Mayor Gary Moore, through his Facebook page, released a memo saying the Kewanee City Council supports City Manager Gary Bradley, praising and acknowledging his dedication and leadership. Despite facing criticism, the council emphasized Bradley’s crucial role in overseeing the city’s daily operations and addressing multifaceted community challenges. To alleviate his workload, the council announced plans to hire an Assistant to the City Manager. This move aims to enhance administrative efficiency and ensure continued fiscal responsibility. The council’s support underscores their confidence in Bradley’s ability to guide Kewanee through its ongoing priorities and challenges. Mayor Moore said they understand some concerns may need to be addressed. “Constructive dialogue between the community, city officials, and the city manager is crucial to moving forward and improving our city.” There is a Kewanee City Council meeting tonight, February 20th, at 7 PM at Kewanee City Hall.
