The City Manager for the City of Kewanee has been released from his contract. According to a release from the City of Kewanee, Gary Bradley has “been relieved of his duties, effective immediately.” The decision to release Mr. Bradley was a joint decision between Mayor Gary Moore and City Council members Chris Colomer, Mike Komnick, Tyrone Baker, and Adam Cernovich. The decision was made because the council believed a change was necessary to move forward with goals and priorities. Mayor Gary Moore said in the release, “We are grateful for Gary’s service and the contribution he made during his tenure, and we wish him well in his future endeavors.”
An interim City Manager will be appointed to ensure that city operations continue to run smoothly and with few interruptions.
“As we move through this transition. I want to assure everyone that your city government remains committed to transparency, accountability, and collaboration. We remain focused on proving high quality services, supporting local development, and ensuring that our community thrives,” said Mayor Gary Moore.
The city will begin the process of hiring a new city manager. The city asks for patience during the hiring and transition process.
