Kewanee is gearing up for its annual City-Wide Clean Up Day, scheduled for June 7, 2025, from 7 AM to noon. Residents are invited to take part, but proof of residency—both a utility bill and photo ID—is necessary. The event is designed to help the community dispose of unwanted items, though certain materials such as electronics and toxic waste are strictly prohibited. Those participating should be prepared to unload their vehicles themselves and are asked to follow the specified entry route for smooth operations. This initiative aims to promote a cleaner city while ensuring safety and organization throughout the process.

Moore Tires and the City of Kewanee are hosting a tire collection during the city-wide cleanup for Kewanee residents at the old hospital site, located at 719 Elliott Street. Residents may bring up to eight passenger or light truck tires, with the first 125 tires collected at no charge. Utility bills and photo identification are required.

If you can volunteer or have questions about the city-wide cleanup, call Kewanee City Hall at 309-852-2611.
