Kewanee is preparing for its annual City-Wide Clean Up Day on June 7, 2025, running from 7 AM until noon. If you can volunteer, contact the city at 309-852-2611. Residents participating must provide both a utility bill and a photo ID to prove residency. Items such as electronics and toxic waste are not accepted, and participants are responsible for unloading their vehicles while following a specified entry route. Moore Tires and the city will also collect up to eight tires per resident at the former hospital site, with the first 125 tires accepted for free. For questions, call Kewanee City Hall at 309-852-2611.
The city-wide clean-up will take place at the former Kewanee Hospital at Elliott and West Division Streets. To enter the site, follow the traffic barrels from Elliott Street onto West Division Street. Exit onto Pine Street.
