Kewanee Continues Recovery Efforts after Tornadoes Last Week

SHARE NOW

The City of Kewanee continues to work on storm recovery from two tornadoes that struck a large part of Kewanee last week. There will be no landscape waste collection today, July 22, 2024. If your trash was not collected last week, and you need it emptied before your next collection day, call city hall at 309-852-2611.  Trash and recycling collection resumes the normal schedule this week.  If you live in the construction area near Central School, the city is collecting trash in this area before 6 AM. Today, July 22nd is an emergency burn day, and burn day rules apply. The city is not taking addresses for brush cleanup. The City of Kewanee is encouraging residents to take the brush to the old hospital property. The city will eventually collect brush at residential addresses, but they can’t guarantee when that will occur.
