In a heartwarming display of community spirit, the Kewanee Elks have generously donated $2,000 to the Kewanee Good Fellows, significantly boosting their efforts to distribute annual Christmas baskets to those in need. The Kewanee Elks reached out to Amron Buchanan about adding a grant for Good Fellows in 2024 and were about to give them the $2,000 grant to purchase food they needed in bulk. The initiative was supported by local volunteers Marty Medley, Crystal Vanwasenhove, Doc Gerleman, and Jeanette Gerleman, who dedicated their time to driving children involved in delivering these baskets and helping carry the bigger boxes. A special mention goes to Carter Gerleman, a diligent fourth grader, who spent a day assisting K-Kids with the packing of the baskets, showcasing the impact of community involvement from all ages.
