Kewanee Elks #724 has honored Lillian Wigant and William Din Ly as the November Teens of the Month, celebrating their exceptional academic and extracurricular achievements. Lillian, a senior at Galva High School, holds a perfect GPA and is involved in numerous activities, from varsity sports to leadership roles in student organizations. William, from Kewanee High School, also boasts a 4.0 GPA and excels in music and sports, playing a significant role in both his school’s band and soccer team. Both students are active community volunteers, contributing their time and talents to various local events and programs. These outstanding students exemplify dedication and leadership, earning them this prestigious recognition.

Lillian, a standout senior at Galva High School, is making her mark both in academics and extracurricular activities. She is the daughter of Lucas and Rachel. With a perfect 4.0 GPA and top-class ranking, Lillian has excelled in various spheres. She’s achieved high honors over her four years and demonstrated leadership in a plethora of activities, from the Student Council to the National Honor Society, where she serves as president. Beyond the classroom, Lillian has shone in softball, volleyball, and track, earning all-conference academic honors in each. Her commitment extends to community service, actively participating in events like the Galva Freedom Fest and local church activities, showcasing her dedication to her community’s growth and spirit.

Senior student William Ly, the son of My Din and Michael Ly, has achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA, securing the top rank in his class of 143 students. William has excelled in a diverse array of activities throughout his high school career, including bands like Marching, Jazz, and Concert Band, as well as participating in soccer, the Key Club, and the Student Council. His talents extend to the Scholastic Team, National Honor Society, and even robotics. Notably, William has received state-level recognition as an Illinois State Scholar and National Merit Scholar. Additionally, he has been an active volunteer in community service projects focusing on music and sports. William’s multifaceted achievements highlight his dedication and versatile talents, making his future a bright beacon to watch.
