A Kewanee Fire Truck collided with a car while en route to an ambulance call on Saturday night. On December 16, 2023, around 9:50 PM, Engine 1 was responding to an emergency call with an ambulance when a passenger vehicle struck the Fire Truck at 2nd and Main Streets. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to conduct the crash report. Kewanee Fire Chief, Chief Stephen Welgat, said the accident didn’t delay the response to the emergency call. Chief Welgat said there were no injuries from the accident. We will give more updates as we get more information. We have reached out to the Fire Department about damage to the Fire Truck.
