The freshman girls’ basketball team faced Sterling on the road Monday night, coming up just short in a hard-fought 41-35 loss. The team had a slow start offensively, but a determined defensive effort in the second half helped close the gap. Late-game mistakes ultimately kept them from completing the comeback, dropping their record to 5-4. Dane Vandevelde led all scorers with 15 points, while Abe Diaz and Kyden Jones each added 6.
