Kewanee High School Boys Basketball Beats Sterling Newman

On Tuesday night, the Kewanee Boys took on Sterling Newman and came away victorious, 73 to 52. It was a big win for the Boilers who moved to 4 and 3 on the season while Newman dropped their record to 4 and 3. Colson Welgat was the hero for Kewanee on Tuesday as he put up a season and career high of 22 points in the win. Braden Clark scored 12 for Boilermakers as well. The game was close at halftime, 35 to 32, but, in the second half, Kewanee started pull away right away and ended up outscoring Newman in the second half 38 to 20 to seal the victory. The Boilermakers are off until Saturday when they face a very good team in the Macomb Bombers.
