Kewanee High School’s Remy Hicks has earned a spot on the IHSA Student Advisory Committee, representing District 11. A standout junior, Remy’s leadership extends from the classroom to athletics, excelling in varsity volleyball, basketball, and All-State honors in softball. She’s also active in FFA and Key Club, where she helped secure top honors at the global level. As a member of the Student Advisory Committee, Remy will promote sportsmanship, collaborate with student leaders, and organize key IHSA events. The Kewanee Athletic Department expresses great confidence in Remy’s ability to advocate for her peers and elevate the voice of student-athletes statewide.

Key responsibilities include:
- Attendance and Participation: Attending all scheduled in-person and virtual meetings.
- Collaboration: Working in groups to discuss and decide on committee activities.
- Event Participation: Organizing and presenting at the biennial Student Leadership Conference, judging the Student Section & Spirit Showdown, and attending at least one IHSA State Final event.
- Representation: Representing one of 21 IHSA legislative districts to provide a student-athlete perspective.
- Communication: Communicating with other members via the Remind app and email and posting on the IHSA SAC Instagram page.
- Leadership Development: Collaborating with Illinois State University’s School of Kinesiology and Recreation to develop psychological and life skills.
