    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Kewanee High School Pep Band Shines at IHSA Girls Volleyball State Finals

Kewanee High School is celebrating a musical milestone as its Pep Band took center stage at the 2025 IHSA Girls Volleyball State Finals in CEFCU Arena, Illinois State University, on Friday, November 14th. The band was selected by the Illinois High School Association to perform during Session 2, a distinction awarded to only a handful of high school bands statewide. Superintendent Rebecca Baney highlighted the students’ talent and dedication, emphasizing the pride the performance brought to the school community. The school credits students, families, and supporters for contributing to the ongoing success of the KHS music program.

“We are incredibly proud of our students,” said Superintendent Rebecca Baney. “Performing at the IHSA State Finals is a significant accomplishment, and our Pep Band showcased the talent, dedication, and Boilermaker pride that defines Kewanee High School.”
