Kewanee High School Students Shine in VFW Post 8078 National Patriotic Art Contest

Three talented students from Kewanee High School have been recognized in the VFW Post 8078 and Auxiliary’s Young American Creative Patriotic Art contest. Andrea Hernandez earned first place with her piece, “God Bless America.” Tenley Dutton took second for “Land of the Free,” and Payton Galli placed third with “Soldier’s Salute.” The competition, which draws over 4,000 high school participants nationwide, aims to honor artistic skill and inspire patriotism. Each of these students received a monetary prize and a certificate. Special appreciation was given to KHS Art teacher Mrs. Lisa Stisser for her encouragement and support.
