A Kewanee man accepted a plea deal for probation and 180 days in the Henry County Jail for having a Facebook account in his name that he didn’t report to the Kewanee Police Department within three days of creating the new account.  Jones pleaded guilty to one count of failure to report, and the second count was dismissed by the State. Jones is required to register as a sex offender for 10 years for a plea deal he accepted on December 13, 2023, for custodial sexual misconduct while he was employed as a correctional officer at the Henry County Jail. Jones received 30 months of probation, 180 days in the Henry County Jail, day-for-day credit, 90 days stayed pending compliance with the plea deal, and a $1,0000 fine. He will report to the Henry County Jail on July 5, 2024, to begin serving his 90-day sentence.

Trayton Jones was originally charged with two counts of Failure to Report Annually (Class 3 Felony).
