Kewanee Man Sought by Police for Questioning in the Homicide on West Division Street

The Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation and the Henry Mercer County Investigative Task Force are seeking public assistance in locating James Reed III, 26, of Kewanee, who has been identified as a person of interest in a recent homicide in Kewanee. James Reed III is wanted for questioning in the case following a welfare check on West Division Street, where an unresponsive male was pronounced deceased on June 8, 2024. Damon E. Foulks, 50, of Peoria, was identified as the victim of a homicide following an autopsy.  The police have not released the manner or cause of death at this time.  The Illinois State Police closed part of North East Street by 800 North Avenue on Friday night, attempting to locate James Reed III at a residence on North East Street. Agents are actively trying to locate Reed.  The police advise the public NOT to approach James Reed III.
