The Kewanee Police Department, Braveheart Children’s Advocacy Center, Students as Teachers, the Geneseo Police Department, and the Erie Police Department joined forces to host a free car seat safety check as part of Car Seat Safety Week. Six Nationally Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians volunteered at the event and checked 17 car seats. The Kewanee Police Department has checked 55 car seats since their Child Passenger Safety Initiative started.
“We would like to extend a thank you to Kewanee High School for allowing us to host our event there and to Kewanee FFA for volunteering to help with our event,” said the Kewanee Police Department in a Facebook post. If you were unable to attend the event and need a car seat safety check, call 309-853-1911 to make an appointment with Sergeant Kindon or Telecommuniter Bryner.
