The Kewanee Police Department’s recent fall traffic safety campaign resulted in a series of enforcement actions aimed at preventing crashes. Officers reported one impaired driving arrest, nine seat belt violations, nineteen speeding citations, seven additional traffic citations, and a misdemeanor arrest. This campaign, held from October 24 through November 3, aligns with statewide efforts like “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Drive High. Get a DUI.” Funding for the operation came from federal highway safety grants distributed by the Illinois Department of Transportation, aiming to reduce crashes and increase safety.
