Organizers of this year’s Kewanee Pride Fest have announced its cancellation, citing the departure of key committee members and a shortage of new volunteers. In a statement, the committee expressed deep regret over the decision, admitting it was made after much deliberation. No funds had been raised for this year’s event, with previous years’ monies securely held for future festivities. Organizers assure the community that plans are already underway to revive Pride Fest in 2026 and encourage all interested in supporting the event to step forward for next year’s efforts. The committee thanks everyone for their ongoing support and patience.
“No funds had been raised for this year’s Pride and any money from the past year’s Prides will remain in the bank for next year. We are already exploring ways to come back stronger in the future and hope that when the call to action comes for next year, all those disappointed or offering to help will show up for 2026. Thank you all for your continued support, love, and patience. THIS IS NOT THE END!”
