Kewanee Public Library 2024 Art Show Winners

The Kewanee Public Library has proudly announced the winners of its 2024 Art Show, celebrating a variety of creative expressions. In the Painting category, Marinn Cisna claimed the top two spots with her works ‘Glow’ and ‘Eventide.’ Jane Kelly dominated the Graphic Art category with ‘Ginkgo Leaves’ and ‘Under the Sea.’ In Photography, Paul Estes shone in the Animals and People categories, while Linda Pont swept the Landscape category. The show also highlighted talents in 3D Art, Textiles, and categories for young artists, with notable winners like Arthur Witte and young talents Abigail and Zayne Reside. The library extends heartfelt thanks to all participants and organizers for making the event a success.

Painting category:

Marinn Cisna took first place and second place with ‘Glow’ and ‘Eventide.’

Graphic Art category:

Jane Kelly took first and second place for her artwork ‘Ginkgo Leaves’ and ‘Under the Sea.’

Photography:

Paul Estes took the top prizes in the Photography – Animals category with ‘Three Amigos’ and ‘Froggy.’
Paul also took first place in the Photography – People category with ‘Way Over There’  and Doug Kindle took second place for ‘Splashpad Fun.’

Linda Pont took first and second place in the Photography – Landscape category with ‘Reflecting Majesty’ and ‘Fog Rolls.’

Heather Hoadley took first place in Photography – Flowers with ‘Bluebell Sunset.’ Second place went to Sharon Miller for ‘Bermuda Conehead.’

3D Art category:

Arthur Witte took first place with ‘Spalted Maple’ and second place went to Cindy Legate for ‘Lucky Swag.’

Textile/Fiber category:

Jackie Huber took first place for her ‘Rectangular Granny Crib Blanket.’ Janice Witte took 2nd for ‘Baby Hooded Shawl.’

High School category:

Abigail Reside took first and second place for ‘Anime’ and ‘Frogs.’

Junior High category:

Zayne Reside took first and second places in the Junior High category for ‘Viking’ and ‘Manga Guy.’

“All of us at Kewanee Public Library District would like to give a huge thank you to all of the amazing artists who entered our 2024 Annual Art Show, to our fantastic Friends of the Library group who sponsored the program and provided us with the prizes and refreshments, and to our judges, Kortney Saunders, Jean Craig, Doris Strand, and Brad Yelm, who all took on the toughest job of the art show. Thank you all we can’t do it without you.”
