Kewanee Community Unit District #229 has launched a new FFA chapter at Kewanee and Neponset Middle School. The chapter was inaugurated with a charter signing ceremony, attended by students, faculty, and Illinois Association FFA officers, on November 8, 2024. This chapter will focus on leadership, personal growth, and career development through agricultural education. This initiative opens doors for middle school students to engage deeply in FFA’s comprehensive program, which integrates classroom learning with practical agricultural experiences. The chapter promises to foster leadership, personal growth, and career readiness, setting a robust foundation for the future of these young aspiring agricultural professionals.

“We are thrilled to launch our Kewanee Middle FFA chapter,” said Mrs. Callahan, Kewanee FFA Advisor. “FFA provides our students with invaluable skills in leadership, communication, and teamwork while fostering an understanding and appreciation for agriculture and its essential role in our society.”

The new middle school chapter follows in line with the existing FFA mission, which aims to nurture the potential of students and inspire the next generation of leaders. The signing of the chapter’s charter signifies not just the start of the chapter but the beginning of a legacy that will impact students and the local community for years to come.
