    Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Heat impacts will be worsened by several consecutive days of sweltering temperatures, with little relief overnight as lows will only be in the mid to upper 70s.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Kewanee School Foundation Celebrated 35 Years with A 1920’s Themed Gala

The Midland Golf Club hosted a spectacular 1920s-themed gala to mark 35 years of unwavering support for the Kewanee Community Unit School District. The event seeks to raise $25,000, earmarked for a new Outdoor Fitness Court at Kewanee High School, alongside boosting the Foundation’s Unrestricted Fund. Attendees watched the unveiling of a unique mural by local artist Sue Blake, destined to adorn the wall of the new fitness court. Sue Black not only donated a $5,000 arts scholarship, but she also donated the signed painting to the live auction. Sue Blake’s painting sold for $2,000. The Gold, Silver, and Bronze Sponsors donated a combined total of $21,500.
