In the small town of Kewanee, the spirit of community shines bright as volunteers prepare Windmont Park for its annual lighting event on December 8th. This year’s preparations hold a special significance following a devastating tornado that left the park severely damaged. The Kewanee Park District and figures like Andy Dwyer have played pivotal roles in orchestrating the recovery efforts. Local heroes Kenny Guyschlag and TJ Jackson have also stepped up, handling crucial power restorations and fence repairs, respectively. The tireless dedication of the volunteers ensures that this cherished holiday tradition illuminates not just the parks but the hearts of all who gather there.
