The much-anticipated Kewanee 4th of July fireworks show returns this year to Northeast Park, lighting up the sky for families across the region. Organizers have managed to avoid tariffs, but rising costs mean expenses are up about 12%. The Kewanee Fireworks Committee is calling for community donations to keep the tradition alive, with contributions accepted at the Chamber of Commerce office at 113 East 2nd Street.
Donations can be made at the Kewanee Chamber of Commerce. Local businesses are pitching in too—Save A Lot shoppers can “Round Up for the Fireworks” at checkout, while Timeout Pub & Grub will host its second annual Pedal Party on June 14th, donating all proceeds to the fireworks fund. Registration for the ride closes May 30th. Kickstands up at 10:30 AM from Timeout Pub & Grub. The cost is $20 per person and includes a t-shirt and a meal.
