KFD To Conduct Hydrant Flow Tests Affecting Local Water Supply on April 25th

SHARE NOW

The Kewanee Fire Department has announced scheduled hydrant flow tests to support the Henry-Stark Special Education building on Railroad Avenue on Friday, April 25, 2025. As a result, those living or working nearby—including along Railroad Avenue, Bunn Avenue, Harbour Street, and See Street—may experience temporary water discoloration or reduced water pressure during the testing period. This is a routine procedure to ensure hydrants provide adequate water flow in emergencies, and the effects are expected to be temporary. Authorities recommend running cold water until it clears if rust appears. Updates will be provided as the tests proceed to minimize inconvenience for area residents and businesses.

Any questions or concerns can be directed to the Kewanee Fire Department at 309-852-2115.
