    Heat impacts will be worsened by several consecutive days of sweltering temperatures, with little relief overnight as lows will only be in the mid to upper 70s.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Knox County Sheriff Announces Arrest of Sex Offender for Soliciting Minors

Authorities in Knox County have arrested Chad W. Davenport, 45, of Altona, on multiple charges related to alleged online solicitation of minors. Davenport, a registered sex offender, was taken into custody on April 30th after an investigation revealed attempts to solicit sexual favors from minors. Charges include two counts of grooming, two counts of indecent solicitation of a minor, and failure to properly register as a sex offender. Sheriff Jack C. Harlan Jr. emphasized the importance of vigilant monitoring of offenders and the department’s commitment to safeguarding local youth. Davenport will remain detained and is presumed innocent until proven guilty. A Preliminary Hearing is scheduled for May 27, 2025, at 2 PM.

Chad Davenport is charged with Violate Sex Offender Registry/2+ (Class 2 Felony), two counts of Indecent Solicitation of a Minor (Class 3 Felony), and two counts of Grooming (Class 4 Felony).
