The Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrested Christopher Alfaro, 27, without incident on the arrest warrant for first-degree murder. Alfaro is in the Knox County Jail, awaiting a first appearance. The state has filed a petition to deny pretrial release. Christopher Alfaro is charged with the first-degree murder of Heath Williams Sr. He is charged with First-Degree Murder (Class M) and Aggravated Battery/Great Bodily Harm (Class 3 Felony).
Earlier Story: An arrest warrant has been issued for a 27-year-old Galesburg man in connection to the homicide on Saturday, August 17, 2024. Galesburg responded to the 1400 block of Moshier Avenue at 8:30 PM for a report of gunshots and found Heath D. Williams Sr. with multiple gunshot wounds. Williams was transported to OSF St. Mary Medical Center and succumbed to his injuries around 11:30 PM. As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant has been issued for Christopher E. Alfaro for first-degree murder and aggravated battery.
