On 4/15/2024 at 10:49 pm LaSalle County Deputies investigated a single vehicle accident in the area of N 2101stRD & E 8th Rd. (Vermillion TWP) A 17 year old male of Oglesby was driving west on N 2101st Rd when a deer entered the roadway. He was unable to avoid the deer and struck it with the front right corner of his vehicle.
On 4/16/2024 at 5:33 pm LaSalle County Deputies investigated a two vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of RT 170 & E 27thRD. (Allen TWP) Jose Navarro (29) of Lemont, IL was driving north on RT 170, approaching E 27th RD when his vehicle struck a vehicle traveling south while negotiating the curve on N 2101st RD. Douglas Sass (49) of Streator was negotiating a curve driving south on N 2101st RD when Jose failed to yield the right away causing a head on collision. Jose was cited for failure to reduce speed/accident.
