On 7/20/2024 at 6:08 am LaSalle County Deputies investigated a single vehicle accident with no injuries in the area of 1200 N 27th RD. (Ottawa TWP) Thomas Tschida (54) of Ottawa was driving east on N 27th RD when he crossed the west bound lane and entered the north ditch causing damage to the front and left side of the vehicle. Thomas was arrested for leaving the scene of accident/vehicle damage. He was later released with a NTA.
On 7/25/2024 at 5:01 am LaSalle County Deputies investigated a single vehicle car Vs deer accident with no injuries in the area of RT 251 & RT 351. (LaSalle TWP) Katlyn Heath (27) of Peru was driving south on RT 251 when a deer entered the roadway. She was unable to avoid the deer and struck it with the left side of her vehicle.
On 7/26/2024 at 1:38 am LaSalle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of RT 18 & E 1st RD. (Hope TWP) Cavonte Streeter (19) of Chicago, IL was arrested for operating motor vehicle with suspended registration and a Cook County, FTA warrant for possession of stolen vehicle. He was transported to LASCO jail.
