The death of an infant in Streator on August 24, 2024, just after midnight is under investigation. Early in the morning, in rural Streator, LaSalle County deputies responded to reports of an unresponsive infant. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, the infant was later pronounced deceased at the OSF Center for Health Hospital in Streator. The LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office and Coroner’s Office are conducting an investigation.
