LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office Holiday Traffic Safety Enforcement Campaign Results

The LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office recently concluded a traffic safety campaign, focusing on the importance of seatbelt use and sober driving. From November 22nd to December 2nd, deputies reinforced the “Click It or Ticket” and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” initiatives. This effort was part of a broader state-wide mobilization with various law enforcement agencies across Illinois aiming to decrease road fatalities. The campaign emphasized preventive measures and strict enforcement to ensure motorists adhere to safety regulations, contributing to safer roads during the holiday season.

During the campaign, the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office reported the following enforcement outcomes:
(56) speeding citations.
(19) occupant restraint citations.
(3) electronic device use citations.
(4) DUI arrests.
(21) other traffic citations.
(3) traffic arrests.
(7) criminal arrests.
(17) no insurance.
(21) suspended registration.

“We issue tickets to remind drivers and passengers that seat belt use isn’t a suggestion, it’s the law,” said Sheriff Adam Diss. “This year’s campaign was successful in grabbing people’s attention with highly visible enforcement methods. As always, our goal is a safe community with safe drivers.”
