This June, Black Hawk College Community Education Center in Kewanee is offering a variety of educational and creative classes. Adults can join the conversational Spanish courses or dive into the world of fiber arts, including crochet and knitting, with sessions designed for beginners and beyond. Meanwhile, a special Kids Craft Camp will keep children aged 6–11 engaged with activities ranging from tie-dye to slime-making. These enriching programs promise a fun-filled summer, with classes conveniently scheduled and reasonably priced. - Conversational Spanish – Through interactive group activities, student will learn beginning-level grammar for a basic understanding of the Spanish language. Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 4-27, from 5-7 p.m. Cost is $65.
- Fiber Arts – Students ages 16 and older will be immersed in crochet, knitting, weaving and felting with hands-on instruction and guided practice. Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 4-20, from 5-7 p.m. Cost is $65 plus $15 materials fee.
- Kids Craft Camp and Activities – Kids ages 6-11 will explore their artistic talents and express themselves through a variety of engaging activities. Classes are Monday-Thursday, June 10-13, from 9-11 a.m. Cost is $40 plus $10 materials fee.
