MACOMB, IL – Head Football Coach Joe Davis announced the $50k Before Kickoff Campaign last week, which is aimed at raising funds to directly impact the Leatherneck Football program. The campaign, which lasts through kickoff of the spring football game on April 19, 2024, will directly benefit WIU Football student-athletes and coaches.
The $50k Before Kickoff initiative is focused on two major and immediate needs for Leatherneck Football: feeding the team at family dinners this spring and enhancing the physical appearances of coaches’ offices and the player locker room. Thanks to a group of Leatherneck Football alumni, contributions to the campaign can help unlock an additional $25,000 in challenge gifts.
“The pride and passion displayed by our football supporters is outstanding,” Head Football Coach Joe Davis said. “This is only the beginning, and Leatherneck nation should know this fundraiser will have a big impact on the start of this new era of WIU Football.”
