Lewistown FD Responds To Sat Morning Blaze

LEWISTOWN, IL – Firefighters were dispatched to an early Saturday morning fire at a home in Lewistown.

According to reports, the Lewistown Fire department and crews from three surrounding towns were called to the home near the intersection of Avenue G and Madison Streets around 5:45 a.m.

The residents managed to escape the home and there are no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters. The fire is believed to be accidental, but the department and state fire marshal are still investigating.

The damage is estimated to be $75,000 with extensive fire damage to the roof.
