On Wednesday, July 23rd, starting at 6 AM, Public Works will begin relocating a water main and fire hydrant at Lexington Avenue and West First Street. Water service in the vicinity will be turned off for several hours in the morning, impacting only local businesses, which have already been notified. Upon restoration, a boil order will take effect and will remain until water testing confirms safety. Following EPA requirements, the Health Department has been informed of the work. Residents near the project may notice rusty water during the transition, though no residential properties will lose service.
