Kewanee gears up for the 48th Annual Hog Day Stampede and Hog Jog, promising an exhilarating blend of community spirit and competitive racing. The ageless Hog Day Stampede Founder Nelson Lay, Jay Cone’, and John Patch marked the course for the 48th time on August 1st. This year, participants have the option to tackle either one-mile or four-mile courses, beginning in the historic South Chestnut area and racing towards a lively finish in front of the Kewanee YMCA. Scheduled for August 31, 2024, the event invites runners of all ages, including a fun run especially for children. Registration is available online or through local forms available in the community. Whether racing or cheering, this event offers fun and fitness for everyone involved.

The 4-mile event starts at 8:00 a.m. sharp Saturday, August 31st with the 1-mile slated for 9:45 a.m. The 1/4 mile kids fun run for ages 7 and under begins at 9:30 with free T-shirts provided by The State Bank of Toulon to the first 300 registered children by August 19th..
