MACOMB, IL – The Macomb Community Theatre (MCT) has announced that they will be holding a forum to address the future of the organization on Sunday, March 26th at 2:00pm at the 4-H Center in Macomb.
The forum is open to the public and will provide an opportunity for members of the community to gather together for a conversation about local theatre.
MCT has said they are eager to return to a regular production schedule after the successful production of September’s “How to Eat Like a Child,” but are first looking to address some challenges that they faced after the loss of the MCT building following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Most notably, the major challenge is a renewal of support from the community including needs in the administrative, production, and development departments, as well as the need for an audience. MCT is hoping this forum will help inform them about which types of shows audiences might like to see, in addition to gauging the interest of individuals to participate in both the organization and shows.
During the forum, community members will learn about MCT’s new home and what they can do to help foster the return of both adult and children’s theatre to the MCT stage.
There will be a brief program with information about MCT followed by a public discussion. Light refreshments will be provided. Interested individuals who are not able to attend the forum are encouraged to contact MCT at livetheatre@macombcommunitythe
