Macomb FD Responds To Friday Morning House Fire

MACOMB, IL – The Macomb Fire Department was dispatched to a call of a house fire on 202 W Carroll Street early Friday morning.

According to a release issued by Macomb Fire Chief Dan Meyer, the department was dispatched at 3:44 a.m. to a house full of smoke on W Carroll Street. On arrival, crews reported light smoke emanating from the home, which was reported to be vacant at that time.

The initial crew made entry and located fire on the first floor and made an initial knockdown. Additional fires were located on the second and third floors of the home, and were summarily extinguished.

The structure has fire, smoke, and water damage throughout and the estimated loss is $50,000.

No injuries to civilians or firefighters were report.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and is under investigation by the Macomb Fire Department.
