MACOMB, IL – Macomb Fire Department responded to a call early Friday morning of a possible structure fire in a single-family residence at 211 W. McDonough St in Macomb.
According to reports, a call came in at 7:32 a.m. with information of a possible fire in the attic. The initial crew arrived on scene minutes later and found light smoke emitting from the roof vents. Entry was made, and the fire was located in the ceiling above the kitchen. The fire was extinguished and deemed under control shortly after.
The cause of the fire has been ruled unintentional and electrical in nature. The home sustained moderate damage to the kitchen, with smoke and water damage throughout the home.
The scene was cleared at 10:03 a.m.
