    Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Heat impacts will be worsened by several consecutive days of sweltering temperatures. Additionally, there will be little relief overnight with near record warm lows forecast in the mid to upper 70s.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Macomb FD Responds To Tuesday AM Mobile Home Fire

MACOMB, IL – The Macomb Fire Department was dispatched for a mobile home fire at South Ward on Tuesday morning.

According to reports, the caller indicated that there was a fire in the living room of 821 South Ward Lot #25. On arrival, responders were informed that it was a small fire and that all occupants had evacuated the home. The fire was extinguished using a combination of ABC and Pressurized Water extinguishers, and was deemed under control at 7:18 a.m. The scene was cleared at 07:44 am.

The home sustained minor damage to the living room wall, and the cause of the fire was deemed to be unintentional and electrical in nature. The residence did have smoke detectors, but they were not functioning at the time of arrival.

Five On-Duty Macomb Firefighters initially responded with an additional 4 Off-Duty firefighters being called in. Assistance was also provided by McDonough County 911, Lifeguard Ambulance, Macomb Police Department, and the McDonough County Sheriff’s Office.
