Macomb Man Arrested For Domestic Battery, Sexual Assault, Unlawful Restraint

MACOMB, IL – A Macomb man was arrested Thursday afternoon for physically abusing his girlfriend and restraining her in her home.

According to reports, officers were dispatched to the area of N. Prairie Ave early Thursday afternoon to investigate a domestic complaint. On investigation, it was determined that the victim had been a victim of several domestic batteries by her boyfriend, David B. Bennett, 28, of Macomb, causing injuries throughout her body. Bennett was also alleged to have kept her restrained within her home for an extended period of time and perpetrated these acts in front of five children also living in the home.

Bennett was subsequently arrested and charged with Aggravated Domestic Battery, Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault, Unlawful Restraint, and Endangering the Life of a Child. Bennett was lodged at the McDonough County Jail.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
