Macomb Man Charged With Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault


MACOMB, IL – A Macomb man was arrested on Thursday in connection to allegations of inappropriate contact with a child under the age of 13.

In a press release issued by Macomb Police Chief Jeff Hamer, it was announced that Payton L. Rucker, 20, of Macomb, had been arrested after a nearly 6-month investigation was conducted into allegations of an event that occurred in December 2023.

According to the release, the MPD began investigations on December 31st before detectives presented the case to the McDonough County State Attorney’s Office for review. Rucker was formally charged with one count of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault, a Class X Felony, on May 9th.

Rucker was detained at the McDonough County Jail where he remains in custody with no bond.
