    Heat impacts will be worsened by several consecutive days of sweltering temperatures. Additionally, there will be little relief overnight with near record warm lows forecast in the mid to upper 70s.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Macomb Teen In Critical Condition After Vehicle Incident

UPDATE (09/12/23): Macomb 185 Schools issued a post on their Facebook page announcing that Landon Cromer had passed away early Tuesday morning as a result of the injuries sustained during the incident that occurred on Saturday evening.

A visitation ceremony will be held on Friday September 15, 2023 at The Crossing in Macomb from 3:30 pm until 7:00 pm and a Celebration of Life will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday September 16, 2023 with Pastor Donnie Case officiating. Burial will be held privately in the Industry Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Landon Cromer Memorial Fund at the State Bank of Industry in Industry, IL.


UPDATE : The teenager has been identified on social media as Landon Cromer, a freshman at Macomb High School and member of the Macomb Bombers football team. A candlelight vigil was held for Cromer on Sunday evening at Macomb High.

Macomb Bomber Athletics activities for September 11th were either cancelled or postponed in reverence.


MACOMB, IL – A Macomb teenager is in critical condition after a vehicle incident that occurred Saturday evening around in the neighborhood surrounding Summer Drive and Candy Lane in Macomb.

According to a joint press release issued by the Macomb Police and McDonough County Sheriff’s Department, the teenager fell from a moving vehicle and struck his head, resulting in a serious injury to his head.

The victim was given assistance by other juveniles in the area until emergency personnel arrived on scene and he was treated for head trauma and transported via air-lift to an area hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

At the time the incident is still under investigation.
