Two Canadians are in the Henry County Jail this weekend after they were busted with more than a thousand pounds of cocaine on Interstate 80 near Geneseo on November 29th around 2 PM. Illinois State Police’s Blackhawk Area Task Force captured two Canadian nationals following a traffic stop on Interstate 80. The suspects, identified as Vanshpreet Singh (27) and Manpreet Singh (36), were found with approximately 1,146 pounds of cocaine, valued at over $40 million. This major bust occurred during a routine vehicle inspection, which led to signs of illicit activity, prompting a detailed search. The drugs seized represent a critical interception of narcotics potentially destined for streets across the region. Both suspects are currently held in Henry County Jail as investigations continue with assistance from the DEA.

“ISP’s coordinated focus on trafficking is helping keep dangerous drugs out of our communities,” said ISP Director Brendan F. Kelly. “From commercial motor vehicle inspections, to daily patrol, to targeted anti-violence and trafficking details, ISP is making communities safer.”

Both are charged with Possession of Cocaine (Class X Felony), Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine (Class X Felony), and Cocaine Trafficking (Class X Felony).
